1989 BMW 325is (E30) in Zinnoberrot red. Build start date: February 2012
The car began it’s life as a plain automatic with a 2.5L M20B25, with 168hp. Andrew bought the car back in 2008 that way, for $2000 with 140,000 Miles.

Couldn’t leave it stock for long!
It now has 215,000 miles, and needless to say it was time for a drift machine build….
So far the drivetrain mods include a nice 3.5L M30b35 from a 735iL, upgrading the car to 210hp (with the car weighing in at around 2800lbs) 5 speed swapped with a G260 transmission and a 4.10 Clutch type LSD.

What better way to pick up a motor from a 7 series, than with a 7 series.

Nothing like the garage builds!

Test drive after the motor swap. Such a big difference!

Right now she’s lowered by a set of D2 coil-overs, and riding pretty on some 15×8 et20 front 15×8 et10 rear TRM C1s, fitted with some street 225/50/15 Falken 512s
The interior is the stock Sport Package, which already is super nice and comfy, except for a 350mm nardi deep corn and a simple aftermarket shift knob.
The February overhaul includes
HD rocker arms and springs, and 1mm over sized I/E valves, some head work, arp head studs, and a cometic head-gasket.
Tubular turbo manifold, externally gated gt4088 or something of equivalent size.
New ground control suspension with custom spring rates and valving.
Formula D spec cage by Blackbird Fabworx.
Sparco evo2 driver and Sparco evo passenger
Dedicated hydraulic ebrake setup.
And most likely more comp dedicated mods in the process! ![]()
Estimated completion date: April 2012
I can’t wait for the rest of the build in 2012, and I will keep this page updated with progress as we progress on it!
